Beschreibung der Ausstellung:
„X-Rays by Peintre X“ @ 30works II

Lebensbejahend und erfrischend anders: die Portraits des Münchener Künstlers distanzieren sich bewusst vom ästhetisierenden Kanon und heben sich durch ihren einzigartigen Charakter ab. Seine Gesichter sind das Konstrukt der Vorstellung von Menschsein, Zeugnis von Selbstreflexion und Selbstentfremdung; aber genau in dieser drastischen Darstellung liegt die Eingängigkeit der Werke von Peintre X.
30works widmet in Ihrer City-Dependance dem Künstler im Rahmen der langen K1 Galeriennacht seine erste Kölner Einzelausstellung.
Seine Bildnisse bestechen nicht nur allein durch ihren hohen Erkennungswert, sondern auch durch ihre grandios pastose Pinselführung. Die malerischen Elemente werden hier und da flankiert von verschlüsselten Schriftzügen aus Holz oder Neonleuchten und unterlegt mit Zeitungs- oder Comic-Ausschnitten. Reich an Zitaten aus unserem Kunstkosmos gesellt sich zu den bisher bekannten „AINP“ (The artist is not present) oder „LIF EIS NOT A l WAYS ADAM I ENHI RST“ neuerdings eine weitere, ungewöhnlich klare Aussage: „I believe“. Mit dieser positiven Konnotation steht er ganz im Geiste der Pop Art, wenngleich er sich auch vieler Elemente des Impressionismus, des Expressionismus und der Objektkunst bedient.
Mit „X-Rays“ zeigt Peintre X, welche Leuchtkraft seinen Malereien innewohnt, die in frischem Hochglanz-Finish erstrahlen.
Peintre X lebt und arbeitet in München. Seine Arbeiten wurden bereits in Basel und Hongkong gezeigt, außerdem auf Kunstmessen wie der ARTMUC, der Stroke Art Fair sowie der ART.FAIR. Mit seinem Pseudonym möchte der Künstler bewusst hinter die künstlerische Leistung seiner Werke zurück treten.
Zur Eröffnung am 29. Juni 2018 wird der Künstler anwesend sein.

Life-affirming and refreshingly different: the portraits of the Munich-based artist dissociate themselves from the aesthetic canon and differentiate through their unique character. His faces are the construct of the imagination of human existence, testimony of self-reflection and self-alienation; but therein lies the catchiness and straightforwardness of the artworks by Peintre X. In the course of K1 galleries’ night 30works dedicates his first Cologne-based solo show to the artist in its City space.
His portraits impress not only with their high degree of recognition, but also with their magnificent elaborated roughly brushwork. Here and there painterly elements are accompanied by encrypted letterings made of wood or neon lights and underlaid by cuttings from newspapers and comic books. Recently, in addition to quotations of the art world, is a new, unusually clear message to be found besides the previous known “AINP” (The artist is not present) or „LIF EIS NOT A l WAYS ADAM I ENHI RST“: “I believe”. With this positive connotation the artist approaches the Pop Art cosmos, even though he makes use of many elements of impressionism, expressionism and object art.
In his solo exhibition “X-Rays” Peintre X shows the radiance within his paintings, which shine in new splendour thanks to a new high-gloss finish.
Peintre X lives and works in Munich. His artworks were already exhibited in Basel and Hong-Kong, in addition to art fairs such as ARTMUC, Stroke Art Fair and ART.FAIR. By assuming an alias, the artist deliberately fades into the background to let his artistic work speak for itself.
The artist will be present at the opening on June 29th 2018.
