Oft stellen wir uns die Welt als endlos vor.
Der Lebenskreislauf hat ein Anfang und ein Ende, doch ist er als
Ganzes unendlich in seiner Wiederholung.
Wir alle gehen unseren Lebensweg, der durch Momente und
Erfahrungen eingerahmt wird und dadurch eine Struktur bekommt.
Es ist unsere Entscheidung aus ihm herauszutreten und die
Unendlichkeit aus einer anderen Perspektive zu betrachten. Und es ist
unsere Entscheidung, wieder auf den Weg zurückzukehren, mit
neuen Einsichten. Das stellen wir uns vor ...
Peter Vink baut die ortsspezifische Installation "Aquabit" auf, die sich
exklusiv mit dem Raum der Galerie auseinandersetzt. Der Künstler
benutzt mehrere "Rahmen des Lichts", deren Maße sich an der Höhe
und Breite des Galerie-Durchgangs orientieren. Dreizehn Lichtrahmen
hängen an der Decke oder stehen auf dem Boden und bilden so einen
imaginären Lichttunnel. Die Galerietreppe wird zur Bühne und zum
Aussichtspunkt zugleich transformiert.
Während des Tages spiegeln sich die Außengebäude im
Straßenfenster, sie überlappen sich mit den Lichtrahmen im Inneren.
In der Nacht schneidet der Lichttunnel eine klare Achse durch das
Gebäude, verbindet Innen- und Außenraum. Das Fenster zum
Hinterhof öffnet den Lichteffekt dazu noch weiter in die Stadt.
Seit 2014 lädt aquabitArt Galerie unterschiedliche Künstler und
Architekten ein, um ein ortsspezifisches Projekt zu realisieren, das die
Wechselbeziehung zwischen Architektur und Kunst thematisiert.
Die Installationen beeinflussen die Wahrnehmung in der Stadt und
tragen selbstbewusst zur Kunstlandschaft in Berlin bei.

Often we imagine the world as endless. The circle of life we experience
has a beginning and an end, but it is infinite in its repetition. We all
have our path in life, which is build by frames of moments and
experiences. It is our decision to step out and see the whole infinite
line from a different perspective. And it is our decision to step back
into the path again, with new insights. This is, at least, what we
imagine …
Peter Vink builds the site-specific installation „Aquabit“, exclusively
interacting with the space of the gallery. He uses multiple „frames of
light“ which dimensions correspond with the height and bright of the
entrance to the gallery backspace. Thirteen frames are hanging on
the ceiling or standing on the floor, building a imaginary light tunnel.
The gallery stairs transform to stage and viewing point in the same
time.
During the day the exterior buildings are reflected in the street
window, they overlap with the “light frames” inside. During the night,
the installation focuses on the tunnel effect, cuts a clear access
through the building, connects outer with inner space. The window to
the backyard opens the light effect even further into the city.
Since 2014, aquabitArt Gallery has been inviting various artists and
architects to realize a site-specific project that addresses the
interrelationship between Architecture and Art. The installations
influence the perception in the city and contribute confidently to the
art landscape in Berlin. |
